Holding the Dawning: the first studio release from the Kansas City Based group Gullywasher, who have been together since early 2018.. The main members Matt Cathlina on Upright Bass/Vocals, Chris Hudson Guitar/Vocals and Sam Wright Banjo/Vocals, started recording demos, rehearsing and performing these songs before all venues shut down including a trip to SXSW in early March by the Covid 19 pandemic.. Thru those early months they continued to rehearse and write more songs and do live streaming shows.. Chris Hudson wrote the majority of the songs and Sam Wright wrote the song "Eastward Facing Road" which are a mix of Americana, Folk, ProgRock, Emo and Jazz.. Recorded between September and November 2020 during the Covid-19 Pandemic at Weights and Measures Soundlab in Kansas City Mo with Duane Trower at the helm... Gullywasher brought in on several tracks local Old Sound guitarist Chad Brothers, The Timbers Devon Teran on Pedal Steel and Mark Hamblin on Trumpet... Making this album a real moody, eclectic and dynamic work...
